When the in-house tax and accounting function is stretched

Companies operating in China frequently find that the workload does not justify a full in-house controller, that the cost of recruiting and retaining qualified tax and accounting staff is disproportionate to the operation, or that a vacancy or parental leave has left the function short-handed. In each case the predictable outcome — late filings, missed fapiao controls, late IIT reconciliations — is avoidable. Our services

Accounting and bookkeeping

We maintain the general ledger, prepare monthly trial balances and financial statements (balance sheet and income statement), and reconcile cash, sales, intercompany accounts and fixed assets. Work is performed either on the client's system or in our hosted environment, with daily, weekly and monthly close cadences agreed in advance.

Payroll

We set up the payroll system for local and expatriate employees, run the monthly cycle (gross-to-net calculation, payslip preparation, IIT withholding, social-insurance and housing-fund contributions) and reconcile against the bank file. We also handle the annual IIT reconciliation for each employee under the comprehensive-income (综合所得) annual settlement framework introduced from 2019, and the汇算清缴 filings on the employee's behalf.

Tax compliance

We prepare and file EIT, VAT, withholding tax, stamp duty and other periodic returns; manage the fapiao lifecycle from issuance through verification and archiving; and respond to routine in-charge bureau queries. Where the client has its own in-house tax team, we work alongside them as a managed extension with defined service-level targets.

Statutory and regulatory filings

Beyond tax, we prepare the annual audit package and the工商 annual report filing (年报) with the Administration for Market Regulation (AMR), the foreign-investment reporting required of FIEs, and the various statistical bureau returns. The objective is a single accountable partner for the routine compliance load, freeing the client's team to focus on planning and projects.
